I cannot believe in 2 days from now I will have walked down the aisle 5 months ago. What a whirlwind! One of my favourite moments from my wedding day has got to be actually doing my bridesmaids makeup. What I thought would've been stressful that morning actually was the only thing that calmed me, well that and Bob Marley. I knew I wanted them to look flawless but still natural. Glamorous but not overly done or changed, my girls were already naturally beautiful. I decided to use key products that I knew would work on all of them, tweaking eyeshadow colours for their skin tone and of course foundation shades. But overall I wanted them to look similar, donning wing eyes and lashes and natural lips. I couldn't be happier with the way the makeup looked on all of them, and stayed on ALL night.

I know it's already May 2018 but I still cannot believe 2017 came and went that fast. It was an incredible year full of weddings and a wonderful year of learning and sharpening my skills as a makeup artist.
In the last year I have met dozens among dozens of brides and bridesmaids, and although I only do get to spend a couple of hours with them, it feels as though I get to know these women quickly and personally. There's something about being in someones face and touching them that makes them unveil all their feelings on you! And you know what, I love it. Women supporting women is something I strongly believe in. I have to say that damn, you women are truly incredible. Each and every one of you has something incredible to share with this world. And each woman is so insanely beautiful in her own distinct way and most, if not all, have absolutely no idea of this special truth. These women have shared their insecurities with me, both physical and personal. Something that stays with me each and every time is how so many of you beautiful women cannot see your worth. You are the first to insult yourself, the first to see a fault in yourself and the first to point out something that you think is "ugly" or "flawed". To your constant surprise, I never noticed your "imperfection" or "flaw" when applying your makeup. The honest truth is this: Each and every one of you is stunning. Whether it's your epic big eyes, your gorgeous skin tone, or your incredible lips, you are all overflowing in beauty.
I feel honoured each and every time I can stand in front of all of you women, examine your beauty, and use what I know to enhance what you have been blessed with. This truly is not a job. It's far too fun to be called "work".
It is also so incredibly true, every woman makes such a beautiful bride. Not one resembles the other, and therein lies the beauty, difference and uniqueness that lies in each of you. From the dress, to the veil, to the hairstyle and your jewelry, all of you fall into place in such effortless ways.
The stories I have heard in one year is enough to fill a book. Some of you are fighting health problems, some of you have experienced loss of loved ones, some are studying and working full time, and some of you are hard working and tired mothers. Whatever your stories are, each of you have strength that is so inspiring. You do not stop. You do not give up.
So this is my letter to you all. Thank you for being role models, daughters, mothers, sisters, and best friends. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life for but one moment, and giving you what you deserve, a moment to feel gorgeous in your skin. This job is truly what woman empowerment is all about. As a woman, I work, I make my own money and care for my family. I am able to make a living using my passion, and this passion allows me to beautify and strengthen through makeup, other women. Women who work tirelessly, women who make their dreams come true, women who are raising other women, and giving them dreams they never had. What a journey, what a circle, what a movement. May each and every one of you beautiful women realize your worth, your beauty, and strength.
And of course,
Here are just a few shots of some of the brides I had the honour to glam this year. What a busy year it was! Thank you to everyone who trusted me to highlight their beauty for their big days!!! Besos.
